Date: Monday 16th November 2026

Time: 6:00pm – 7:00pm

Venue: Online

Delivered by Derby City Council’s Child Protection Manager and LADO, this workshop aims to increase awareness and develop understanding of how concerns and allegations are managed when they involve individuals who work, volunteer, coach, teach, support or care for children, young people, or vulnerable adults while in a position of trust.

By the end of the workshop, participants will:

  • Understand the history, purpose, and statutory framework for managing allegations, including the role of the Local Authority Designated Officer (LADO).
  • Understand what constitutes a Position of Trust and why maintaining professional boundaries is essential in safeguarding children, young people, and vulnerable adults.
  • Explore the harm threshold, referral processes, and potential outcomes when concerns or allegations are raised.
  • Develop confidence in responding appropriately to concerns, helping to protect those in their care while safeguarding their own professional integrity and practice.

This workshop is about creating safer environments for children and adults at risk, promoting professional curiosity and accountability, and supporting everyone who works in a position of trust to uphold the highest standards of conduct and safeguarding practice.
